#5. With this offer we made €820,05

Hi! This is Mario. πŸ‘‹

We’re still on the road to one million and this week we’ve come 0.00082% closer 😜.

We’ve earned €820,05 with 19 subscriptions.

And… What have we done to achieve this?

From June to now, we have been focusing on improving Overtracking and attracting leads to try it. We wanted to use their feedback to improve the tool and make it useful for everyone. But, so far, we have taken almost no action to convert free users into premium ones.

So I thought about launching a 25% discount coupon, but it didn’t seem new or that it would bring any more value to the user. I think Overtracking is already quite competitively priced (30% less than the competition), and I don’t want to differentiate the product by being cheap. I want it to be differentiated by being good, and that’s what we’re working on (we still have some way to go, but we will get there).

Additionally, when I considered the promotion, I recalled Ignacio de Miguel’s feedback. To summarize, he mentioned that he disagreed with offers that didn’t consider existing customers.

So, with this in mind, I decided to create a promotion that highlights the tool’s value, is accessible to EVERYONE, and could generate more subscriptions.

Here’s what I did:

I upgraded everyone who signed up for the Plus plan (6,95€/month) to the Advanced plan (12,95€/month) for free. This offer was also applied to ALL those who had previously bought the Plus plan.

The response to this offer was very positive…

  1. Former customers greatly appreciated it. πŸ’™
  2. A lot of users who were in the middle of a 7-90 day trial purchased a paid plan. πŸ”₯
  3. This helped us validate the idea that people are ready to pay for a solution like Overtracking. πŸš€

I also have to mention that this wouldn’t have worked if we hadn’t already had more than 1,000 registered users, with many of them having active websites (over 1,100), contemplating whether to make a purchase. If we had attempted this with fewer users and websites, it might have failed.

Next Monday, I will share everything we have done so far in our marketing efforts. Although we’ve already made progress with our strategy of sending DMs on platform X, we still have the collaboration, experiments, and other activities to discuss. So, we’ll put together a post with the complete strategy up to this point.

Subscribe and never miss a beat.
